Kapag Pinoy ang nagmahal: How saying “I love you” almost ruined the world

 Almost 11 years ago, May 4, 2000, a simple email with “ILOVEYOU” on the subject line and what seemed to be a love letter attached, was first sent from a Philippine-based computer to unsuspecting web users.

A few clicks later, the ILOVEYOU computer worm managed to travel through the expanse of the internet and eventually brought an estimated $5.5 billion in damage, putting the mail systems of the Pentagon, CIA and British Parliament into a halt.

Inspired by these events, the new film, Subject: I Love You is set to premiere on April 30th at the Newport Beach Film Festival. Watch the trailer above about “the story of a young man, Victor, who will do anything to reconnect with the only woman he’s ever loved - even if that means entangling himself in an international criminal investigation.”

The ILOVEYOU virus made by the Filipino programmer is said to be the most virulent computer worm since then.

Ang lupit nung Pinoy na gumawa ng virus na yun. Malupit din si Echo, bigatin ang mga kasama. Ganda pa ng leading lady. Hehe.
